Ann F. DeSanto Morris, 81, of Old Forge, passed away on Friday, December 29th at Geisinger CMC Hospital, Scranton. She was born in Pittston, January 6, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Musto) DeSanto.
Ann was a member of Prince of Peace Parish Church, Old Forge. She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston; a graduate of Misericordia University, Dallas; and obtained her Master’s Degree from the University of Scranton. Ann taught in the Scranton School District for over 30 years and retired from teaching at West Scranton High School. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR).
Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Morris; her brothers, Joseph and his wife, Barbara DeSanto of Pittston Twp. and Fred DeSanto of Pittston Twp.; her sister, Marylou Kozlosky and her husband, Robert of Lansdale; as well as her godson, Gary Desanto; and many nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces and wonderful friends, Grethe. Alice, Chris, MJ, and BeBe.
Ann’s family would like to thank the medical staff at Geisinger CMC Emergency Room for their kindness and care that was shown to Ann and also to Dr. Ken Sebastinelli and staff for their gentle and compassionate care over the past several years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 9:00 am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30 am at Prince of Peace Parish Church, 123 W. Grace St., Old Forge, PA with Fr. August Ricciardi officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 2nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Interment will be held at the Cathedral Cemetery, Oram St., Scranton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN.
