Owen “Opie” Perrins, 62, of Dupont, peacefully passed away on Tuesday evening, September 4th at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Dupont on October 15, 1955 and was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Burnside) Perrins.
Prior to retiring, Owen was employed by Popple Construction/Pioneer Aggregates, Laflin. Owen took great pride in his work and was always there when they needed him.
Owen was a devoted husband and father. In addition to spending time with his family, he loved spending time outdoors and planting wildflowers in his garden. Owen was an avid hunter and could always be found with his rod and reel from spring to fall. Owen was the kind of man that made you feel good to be around.
A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. A life well lived is a legacy, of joy and pride and pleasure, a living, lasting memory our grateful heart’s will treasure.
Owen was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry and Leonard.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Christine Yedesco; son, Owen, Pittston Twp.; daughter, Danielle, Dupont; brothers, Raymond and wife Ellie, Thornhurst, Arthur and his wife Donna, Dupont, Mark and his wife Joanne, Dupont; sister, Rosella, Duryea; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
