Brian Petliski


Brian Petliski, 31, of Clarks Summit, passed away on Wednesday, November 28th at his home. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 3rd, 1987 and was the son of Frank and Carol (Benfer) Petliski.

Brian was a 2005 graduate of Valley Central High school in Montgomery, NY. He was a graduate of SUNY New Paltz College and acquired a master’s degree in psychology. Brian worked as an adjunct professor for Lackawanna College, the University of Scranton and Penn State University, Worthington Campus. Brian had two books published on the subject of teaching. His passion was teaching and he took great pride and fulfillment in educating his students. He was an avid chess and pinochle player and was also a black belt in Tang Soo Do.

In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his sisters, Jennefer Petliski and Stephanie Sonya Petliski, both of Dunmore. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins, his cat Kitty and his niece, Kara the dog.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at 2:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, Ph.D. of St. John Vianney Parish officiating. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 1pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
