Shirley Miller, 86, of Duryea, formerly of West Pittston, died on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in West Pittston on September 25, 1932 and was the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Huddleson) Garrett.
Shirley was a graduate of West Pittston High School and the Empire Beauty Academy. She was the owner and operator of Shirley’s Beauty Shop, West Pittston for over 34 years. Shirley was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clifton Miller, her daughter Marylin Miller, and sisters Carol Hancock and Betty Garrett.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Miller and his wife Barbara of Wilkes-Barre and Glen Miller of Duryea. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Adam Miller and his wife Melanie, Tammy Heck and great-granddaughter Jennifer and her fiancé A.J. Hunter as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening, March 12th from 5-7pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held at a later date.
