Andrew Barycki, 78, of Old Forge, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his home. He was born and raised in Old Forge, on July 8, 1944 and was the son of the late John and Ada Barycki.
Andrew was a graduate of Old Forge High School. He worked for Sinawa Construction and retired from T.P. Corp, Duryea after many years of employment. Andrew was also well known at the caretaker of Macs Café, Old Forge.
He had a love for Roy Rogers and Gene Autry, and enjoyed traveling to California to visit the Roy Rogers museum with his family. He also enjoyed traveling to Nashville and many other areas in the USA. Andrew also enjoyed watching sports, especially his Old Forge Blue Devils. He loved animals, including his cats, Goldie, Snowball and Buddy and enjoyed watching the raccoons in which he had a favorite that he called “Ricky the Raccoon”. Andrew will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Irene Murphy Barycki who died
May 19, 2011, and his sister Antonina.
He is survived by his daughter Andrea Melissa Barycki aka “His Christmas Baby” and his many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 10:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:30am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. Michael Bryant officiating. Friends may call on Monday evening, October 17, 2022, from 5pm-8pm. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca.
I am so sorry for your loss, Andrea - your dad was a really great guy. Both of your parents really treated any of us like their own kids. May he rest in peace, and may his memory remain a blessing.
