Ann Flynn Williams

Ann Flynn Williams, 96, of Hughestown passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.  Born in Hughestown on April 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Laura (McNulty) Flynn.


Ann was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Hughestown and Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, Pittston, attending numerous novenas at St. Ann’s and always participating in church activities and daily rosary.

 

She was a graduate of Hughestown High School, Class of 1945., Ann was also a graduate of the Pittston Hospital School of Nursing and then retired from Valley Crest Nursing Center as a supervising registered nurse.

 

Throughout her life, Ann was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed being surrounded by family. She was kind, loving, funny, and feisty. Ann enjoyed many trips with her husband to Branson, Ireland, and her beloved Notre Dame. She also loved the 50th anniversary cruise with her entire family. She was known as Auntie Annie to her numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

 

Ann is survived by Martin, her husband of 73 years, daughter Suzanne Williams, of Hughestown, her sons Patrick Williams and his wife Debra, of Lititz, PA, and Martin Williams, Jr. and his wife Theresa, of Hughestown.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Erika, Ashley, Justin, Martin, III, and Megan Masters; great-grandchildren Max, Bodi, and Arielle; her sisters, Ruth Anderson, of Hughestown, and Lorraine Miller, of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters; Patricia Maksumczuk, Catherine LePore, and Mary Grace Price.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959

 

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, 535 North Main St., Pittston with Fr. Kenneth Seegar officiating.  Friends may call for visitation at the church from 10am until time of mass.  Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hughestown.
