It is with deep sorrow to announce Arthur “Archie” Faulkner died at Regional Hospital, Scranton on Monday January 22, 2024. He fought a brave and courageous battle with COPD for 16 years, he was 80 years old. He was born in Minooka on November 14, 1943 and was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Faulkner.
He was married to Dorothy (Major) Faulkner. They have been together since high school, Archie a graduate of Scranton Tech and Dorothy a graduate of Avoca High School, she was “the love of his life”.
In addition to his wife Dorothy he is survived by his son Arthur “Artie” and his wife Elisabet. His daughter Cindy and her husband Rich Novak. Grandchildren A.J., Drew, Anna and Adam Faulkner. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law Bill Hulse, Joseph and John Major and many nieces and nephews.
Archie is preceded in death by his sisters Mary Hulse and Catherine “Kay” and her husband Mathew “Butchie” Demich and his sisters-in-law Jean Coffee and Dawn Major.
He was the owner and operator of McGraw Vending. Archie was a gentle, kind, and generous man. He would help anyone out. It was said that he could fix anything. Throughout his life he met a lot of good people and had a lot of wonderful friends, including the Weidows, his friends at the Browns Club and too many more to mention.
Archie’s family would like to thank Dr. James Sheerer and the doctors and nurses at Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday January 25, at 6:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with Fr. Phillip Sladicka of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday evening from 4pm until time of services.
