Casimir J. Haduch

Casimir J. Haduch, 83, of Avoca, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Allied Hospice Meade St. in Wilkes-Barre.  He was born on October 10, 1941, in Avoca, the son of the late Walter and Catherine M. (Kmiec) Haduch.


Cas was a devoted member of SS Peter and Paul Parish Church in Avoca until it’s closing, after which he joined Queen of The Apostles Parish Church.  A graduate of Avoca High School, class of 1959, Casimir briefly worked as an electrician in New Jersey before serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve. He was honorably discharged in 1969 and went on to have a dedicated 35-year career with PPL Electrical Utilities, retiring in 2001.

Casimir was preceded in death by his parents; his son Robert Haduch, who passed away on November 11th, 2023; and his sisters, Rosemary Kozlowski and Theresa Haduch.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Nancy (Zuba) Haduch; his daughters, Lisa Mercer and her husband Fred, of Bloomsburg, and Karen Reber and her husband Jeff, of Mifflinburg.  He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brett and Karli Mercer and Matthew and Christopher Reber. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister, Dorothy Haduch of Avoca; his brother Frank Haduch, of Springbrook; and many nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be privately held at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. Interment will take place at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca, with military honors provided by the AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, Pa.
