Chester M. Ostrowski

Chester M. Ostrowski, 80, of Springbrook Twp., passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. He was born in Avoca on August 31, 1941 and was the son of the late Louis and Mary Hornick Ostrowski.

Chester was a member of St. Catherine’s of Siena Parish Church, Moscow, where he served as an usher for many years. He was a 1961 graduate of Avoca High School. After graduating, he joined the US Army and served from 1961-1964. He worked for the Daleville Lumber Company for five years and then joined his brother Norman in business. He worked as a building contractor for over 30 years and retired in 2004. Along with being an active member of St. Catherine’s Parish, he was a member of the Daleville VFW Post 5207.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Chester Michael Ostrowski II, who passed away April 10, 2019; his brothers Raymond, Edward, Norman, Frank, Joseph, Louis, Theodore Ostrowski; and his sisters Shirley Czaja and Theresa Tripus.


Chester is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Marie Wilk Ostrowski, and his grandchildren Kolbie and Joscelyn Ostrowski. Also surviving are his brother Eugene Ostrowski and his wife Cathy, of Duryea; his sisters Jean Stelma, and Dolores Policare,

both of Avoca; and numerous nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 10:30am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Church St., Moscow, PA with Father Robert Simon officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Friday morning from 9:30am until time of the mass. Interment will be held at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
