Christine Marie Martin, 90, of Avoca, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17th, at Hospice of The Sacred Heart in Dunmore.  Born in Kulpmont, PA, on July 31, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Rauba) Fantanarosa.


Christine was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church now Queen of The Apostles Parish Church in Avoca, where she was active in St. Mary’s Alter and Rosary Society. 


A graduate of Kulpmont High School, she married her beloved husband, Robert B. Martin, on June 11th, 1955. They shared many years together before Robert’s passing on November 25, 2013. She retired from PNC Bank in Avoca after after a long dedicated career.


In addition to her parents and her husband, Christine was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Fantanrosa.


She is survived by her son Kevin Martin, and his wife, Gertrude McGowan Martin, of Wilkes-Barre, as well as her grandchildren Owen and Teresa Stella Martin.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Of The Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.


A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday April 5th at 10:00am with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating at Queen Of The Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, Pa.  Friends may call for visitation that morning from 9am until time of mass.  Interment will be privately held at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.

I worked with Chris during most of my time at the Avoca Bank (PNC) . We got along very well. In fact many people thought we were "sisters". I didn't mind that a bit. My prayers are with her

family.
