David G. Coleman

David G. Coleman, 59, of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in the Philippines, he was the son of Maryann (Meyer) Coleman and the late Gary G. Coleman.

David was a graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Allentown. After graduating, he joined the United States Air Force and served as a Law Enforcement Specialist from 1982-1986. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he became a Pennsylvania State Police Officer and was stationed with Troop N., Fern Ridge Barracks, Blakeslee. David also worked for the Avoca Police Department. He was Chief of Security at the Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Airport and was the owner and operator of Keystone Gun Parts.


David enjoyed spending his free time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, companion, brother, and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother Michael Coleman.


In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion of 28 years, Roseann Thorek; son Robert Coleman, of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Diandra Webb, of Luzerne; stepson Brian Thorek; and grandchildren, Katie and Zoe Coleman, and Lora Lorey, Gabriel, Rosalie and Scarlett, Thorek. He is also survived by his sister Laura Coleman, of South Carolina and many nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 7:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Deacon Jim Rose of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, January 10th from 5pm until time of service. AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide military honors.
