David Yuschovitz

David Yuschovitz, 60, of Scranton, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 18, 2024.  He was born in Avoca on December 26, 1963 and was the son of the late John and Veronica Jadus Yuschovitz.


David was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1981 and the Wilma Boyd Career School, Inc. in 1982.  David worked at Beacon Keystone Community Resources for 37 years.  Prior to that he worked at Friendship House and Olan Mills.

 

David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to the beach, Disneyworld, concerts, the casino, and playing cards with his family.  He also liked going to the movies with his son and Broadway shows with his daughter.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Rosann George.

 

David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Madlyn Kearney Yuschovitz, his son Sean Yuschovitz, and daughter Maddie Yuschovitz.  Also surviving are his siblings, John and his wife Debby, of Avoca, Veronica Seber and her husband Mark, of Scranton, Diane Centrella and her husband Robert, of Avoca, and Debbie Brady and her husband Mark of Pittston, and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

David’s family would like to thank the staff and medical personnel at Regional Hospital and Wound Care, Geisinger CMC, Allied Hospice Care, and Dr. Martin Moran for all the care and support they have provided to David.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 10am at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating.  Friends may call on Sunday afternoon, February 25, from 3pm-6pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St.  Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning; there will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
