Della Mruk Romanczuk, 93, of Avoca, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Wesley Village Nursing and Rehab Center, Pittston, PA. She was born in Avoca, November 21, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anne Marcavage Mruk.
Della was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of Avoca High School. After high school, she worked as a housekeeper in several Kingston area homes. She then went on to work in and retired from the local garment industry.
Della was a member of the ILGWU. She loved to travel with her late husband Walter M. Romanczuk, who passed away July 7, 2015. In her earlier years, she enjoyed polka dancing and family outings, but most of all she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and her visits with her sister Matildia. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and her husband Walter, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley, Leo, Zigmund and Edward Mruk and sisters, Eleanor Balara, Lagora Urbanski, Delores Robachefski and Regina Jurovsky.
Surviving are her sons, Michael, and wife Andrea, of Pittston Twp., Ronald and wife Elizabeth, of Umatilla, FL, Walter and his wife Lynne, of Pickens, SC. Also surviving is her sister Matildia “Tillie” Drost, of Dupont. Her 6 grandchildren, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Interment held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
