Edward “Polo” Polerecki

Another WWII Veteran passed away, Edward “Polo” Polerecki, 97, formerly of Dupont, Springbrook, Avoca, and was currently residing at the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. Polo died on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.

He was born in Dupont, October 10, 1924 and was the son of Stephen and Ann Pollerecki. He enlisted into the US Army from 1943-1946 and was the recipient of four Bronze Stars while serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Edward was the owner and operator of the Ed “Polo” Body Shop, Springbrook.


He is survived by his cousin, Dan Polerecki, of Pittston and many other cousins.


Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
