Henry, “Sonny/Moony”, Doran, 91, of Duryea, passed away on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at County Meadows of West Shore, Mechanicsburg, PA. He was born in Duryea on September 21, 1932, and was the son of the late Thomas and Marrion Mallon Doran Ross.
Henry was a graduate of Duryea High School and worked as a truck driver for most of his life, retiring in 2001 at the age of 70. When Henry was not behind the wheel of a truck, he could be found working on cars in the driveway or making home improvements. After retirement, he enjoyed making furniture in his basement workshop, baking bread and cookies for the holidays, and relaxing in front of the television.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Russo and Christine Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Pesotine Doran, his sons, Daniel and his partner Evelyn Larock of Wilkes-Barre, Brian and his wife Pamela, of Aspers, PA, Thomas and his wife Mary Ellen, of Gwynedd Valley, PA, and Gary and his wife Mary, of Hummelstown, PA. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, his sister Frances Sworen, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
