Holly (Karsko) O’Boyle, 71, of Suscon, passed away on December 5th, 2021, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Avoca, August 2, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Holl) Karsko.
Holly was a graduate of Pittston Area High School class of 1968. After graduating high school, she worked at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport. She then worked for Schott Optical, Duryea and retired as a supervisor after 43 years of employment.
Holly excelled in arts and crafts and enjoyed attending many shows throughout the years, selling her work. She loved to cook for her family and friends and loved all animals especially her cats. Holly was a very giving, kind, hard working, and compassionate person. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret DeGroot, Mable Dunston, and Jane Hughes; brothers, Martin Karsko and Charles Karsko, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Kenneth Dunston
Holly is survived by her husband of 47 years, James L. O’Boyle; her son James Lucas O’Boyle and his wife Leah, of Duryea; granddaughters Ciera and Emily O’Boyle; her sister Mary McCollum and her husband William, of New Jersey; her brother Michael Karsko and his wife Alice of Harding; and many nieces and nephews.
Holly’s family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens at East Mountain and the Geisinger Medical Center on East Mountain for the excellent care that they provided for her.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Chris Stark of the Rock Church Worship Center, Scranton officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday afternoon from 1pm until time of service.
