John Vacendak

John Vacendak, 81, formerly of Pittston, passed away at his home on May 17th, 2024.  He was born in Scranton and was the son of the late John and Helen Beseda Vacendak.


John was a graduate of Pittston High School, and Wilkes School of Business.  He served in the US Army and the US National Guard during the Vietnam Era with the rank of Corporal. He was a proud 50-year master mason, Lafayette Lodge #71, Philadelphia, PA.  John retired as owner/broker of Capitol Real Estate, Nanticoke, PA

 

In addition to his parents, he was recently preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, the former Evelyn L. Danchick, who passed away on March 27, 2024, sister Joan, brother-in-law Michael Boyko, Alan and Donald Danchick, and mother and father-in-law, Nicholas and Jessie Danchick.

 

John and Evelyn are survived by brother Michael Vacendak and his wife Theresa of Laflin, his brother-in-law Richard and Nancy Danchick of New York, several cousins, nieces, and nephews and John and Evelyn’s best, Mike and Theresa’s Collie Chancelor

 

Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024, from 5-7pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment service for both John and Evelyn will take place at the Vacendak’s family site, St. Nicholas Byzantine Cemetery, Old Forge.  Military honors for John will be provided by the AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston.
