Kathleen Micklasavage, 79, of Dupont, passed away on Monday October 9th, 2023 at her home. She was born in Pittston on November 17, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mullarkey) Martin.
Kathleen was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of St. John The Evangelist High School, Pittston, class of 1961. She then went on to graduate from Mercedian School of Practical Nursing, Scranton, as a LPN, and graduated from Luzerne County Community College and obtained her license as a registered nurse. She worked many years as a nurse, having worked for Dr. Savage as a nurse, and then retired from Wesley Village, Pittston, with over 35 years of employment.
Kathleen was also the former owner of Katie’s Place, Dupont. Throughout her life, Kathleen had a great love for animals and was the owner of many beloved pets. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Dolores Schulden.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Louis P. Micklasavage, her son Louis M. Micklasavage of Dupont, and her pets Macy, Lenny, and Lola. She is also survived by her sister, Theresa Casey, of Dupont and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
