Kathleen Thomas Brown, 72, of Avoca, she passed away peacefully in her family home surrounded by her family, on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born in Avoca, April 21, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Martin “Haskell” and Catherine (Clifford) Thomas.
Kathy was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 1970. She worked for many local area businesses throughout her life and retired from MTF in Jessup.
She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in their happiness and love. A warm and welcoming presence, she cherished movie night and dinners at Longhorn Steakhouse with her brothers and sisters-in-law. Her beautiful and welcoming smile had a way of making everyone feel at ease, helping her connect effortlessly with all who crossed her path.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother James “Tinker” Thomas.
Kathy is survived by her children, Erica Brown and her husband Jorge Neyra, of Germantown MD., William Brown and his wife Jamie, of Archbald, Keith Brown, of Pittston and Scott Brown and his wife Missi, of Rochester, NH. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sebastian and Olivia Neyra, Caleb Brown, Jayden, McKenna, and Emily Brown, her brother Martin Thomas and his wife Mari, of Scranton, sister-in-law Rosie Thomas and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart and Lela for their compassionate care, making her final days peaceful and full of comfort.
Funeral services for Kathy will be held by her family members on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 5:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Friends may call for visitation from 4pm until time of service.
