Lois E. Collins Maciorowski

Lois E. Collins Maciorowski, 90, of Moosic passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Hospice of The Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She was born in Dupont on February 21, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Edna Fraunfelker Collins.

Lois was a member of St. John’s Primitive Methodist Church, Avoca. She was a graduate of Avoca High School, class of 1949. For many years Lois was employed at Kresge’s Department Store in Pittston in the glassware section. She then helped raise her daughters along with her husband Edward. Lois returned to the workforce and was employed at Kmart department store, Pittston and retired in 1982.


She loved to crochet, and she made many crocheted items for her family and friends. Lois also enjoyed her garden and had a large collection of collectable pigs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edward Maciorowski, who died on April 8th, 2009 as well as her infant son and siblings; Evelyn Westcott, Eleanor Mastronardi, and Donald Collins.


She is survived by her daughters; Susan Lillis, of Old Forge, Lisa Gillow and her husband Richard, of Avoca, grandchildren; Kyle Lillis, Amanda Balendy, Christopher Gillow and his fiancé Lisa Chihorek, and her great grandson Logan Balendy. Also surviving is her sister Doris Reap, of Avoca and many nieces and nephews and her cat “Charlie”.


Lois’s family would like to thank Visiting Angels in home personal care, the nurses and staff at Hospice of The Sacred Heart, and a special thank you to Anne for the excellent care that has been given to Lois over the past few months.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 11:00am at St. John’s Primitive Methodist Church, 316 Main St., Avoca with Rev. Dale Pepper officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, August 14th from 4pm-6pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Elmhurst.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510
