Marie K. Sworen, 79, of Dupont, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Dupont on July 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Biesiadecki) Dudek.
Marie was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of Dupont High School Class of 1960. Marie worked for RCA, Inc., Dunmore until its closing with over 35 years of employment.
Marie loved traveling with family and friends to casinos both locally and traveling to different states, she was also and daily newspaper puzzle player, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers; Joseph, Walter, Stanley, and Frank Dudek.
She is survived by her husband of 33 ½ years, William J. Sworen, her son Robert Kozak and his wife Raquel, of Baltimore, Maryland and her granddaughter. Sarah Kozak, of Baltimore. She is also survived by her sister Genevieve Aston, of Dupont and several nieces and nephews.
Marie’s family would like to send a special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Geisinger Wyoming Valley ICU and the Palliative Care Unit of Geisinger for the excellent care and compassion giving to Marie.
Private memorial services will take place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.
