Phillip J. Oliver, Jr. 76, of Pittston, passed away on Friday September 29, 2023 at the Third Avenue Health Care Center, Kingston, PA. He was born in Pittston, November 12, 1946 and was the son of the late Phillip J. Oliver Sr. and Minnie (Perfetto) Oliver.
Phillip was a graduate of Northeast High School, Duryea class of 1965. He worked along with his father in their family business, Oliver’s Lawn Mower Small Engine Repair Shop, in Pittston and continued operating the family business for over 40 years. He also was employed by Panel Prints, Moosic, A&A Auto Parts in Moosic and Exeter and he retired from Walmart having worked at the Taylor store and the Pittston location.
Phillip enjoyed his work in small engine repair, he found it fulfilling and took much pride in operating the business his father started. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Vincent and Joseph.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 19 years Carol (Breymeier) Oliver, his son Jeffery Reklaitis, Pittston and his loving companion, his dog “Ruger”. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Marylin O’Malia, nieces and nephews; Kimberly Morreale and her husband Dominic, Kelly Rosser and her husband Lee, Ryan Reklaitis and his wife Jen, John Reklaitis, and many great nieces and great nephews.
Phillip’s family would like to thank Dr. Mauer Biscotti, and his cardiologists, nurses and staff at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Chris McAndrew, CRNP, Dr. Bovva and Dr. Sattar for their excellent care and compassion.
Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
