Thomas “Post” Lampman, 66, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on March 11th, 2025, after an extended illness. Born and raised in West Avoca, Tom was the son of the late Helen and John Lampman, Sr. He graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School and attended Penn State University.

After a long successful career with Grainger Industrial Supply, Tom retired early and soon became bored. He then obtained his CDL and drove school bus for the Virginia Beach school system as “Mr. Tom” for several years.
“Good friend, amazing person, friendly, positive, humorous”, in the days following his passing, these words were repeated often by those who knew him. There were no strangers in Tom’s life and once you earned the title of friend, it was yours forever. A proud member of the “Packers Backers”, Tom was known for his sarcastic wit, “Dad” jokes, and horrible puns.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Reed, and brother Gerard Lampman.
He is survived by brothers, John Jr, Avoca, Charles, and companion Beverly Pauline, of West Scranton, Joseph and his wife Mary Ellen, of Avoca, sister Donna, of Moosic, sister-in-law Ann Marie Lampman, of Scranton, numerous nieces and nephews that he held close to his heart, and his faithful companions, Dizzy and Shadow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 10704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or Blue Chip Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00am at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday morning from 10:00am until time of service. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.

Family and friends of Tom 'Post' Lampman please accept my sincere condolences regarding the loss of Tom. He will be missed. He was a great and funny guy and super great to hang around with in Avoca. Occasionally played some pickup basketball with him during our youth at the Legion and elsewhere. Great memories for me, and for you all, I'm sure, of those hometown glory days! Mark Justick
My deepest condolences to the family. I knew "Post" when I was a member of the Avoca Hose Co. He always had a great attitude toward life. He will be greatly missed.
My deepest heartfelt sympathy is extended to all the members of the Lampman family on your loss of Tommy. He will always be remembered for his bright and dancing eyes, his broad smile or maybe a smirk at times, his humorous words and jokes along with his willingness to always help others. May he be resting in peace and comfort and enjoying his reconnecting with all of those gone before him. As for so many others, gone too soon.
