Timothy Loftus, 79, of Pittston, passed away on November 26, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Pittston on December 19, 1943, and was the son of the late Timothy and Margaret Hewitt Loftus.
Timothy was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1961, and then attended the Wilkes-Barre School of Business. He worked for the Celotex Corporation, Dupont Explosives, and retired from Kappa Graphics after many years of employment.
Timothy was an avid runner having completed the Marine Corp Marathon and many other competitive running events. He was also a very skilled and talented photographer with a specialty in photographing animals. Tim and his wife Barbara were very active with the Pittston City Little league, both coaching successful teams. He was a die-hard Philadelphia Phillies fan and Chicago Bears fan. Tim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant daughter Barbara Loftus and daughter Kerry Collins, who died August 7, 2020.
Timothy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Memory Loftus and his sons, Kevin Loftus of Florida and Robert Loftus and his companion Mary Jo of Pittston. He is also survived by his grandson Thomas Loftus and his great-granddaughter Carly Stoss.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 5:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Fr. Phillip Sladicka of Queen of The Apostles Parish Church officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday evening from 4pm until time of service.
